New version of the European and national statistical classification of economic activities
A new version of the Standard Classification of Activities came into force
A new version of the Standard Classification of Activities, SKD 2025, entered into force on 1 January 2025. The SKD 2025 will be gradually implemented in statistical surveys.
New version of SKD with the new year
On 1 January 2025, a new version of the Standard Classification of Activities, called SKD 2025, came into force in Slovenia, replacing the current SKD 2008. More information about the change of the Standard Classification of Activities is presented in the publication New version of the European and national statistical classification of economic activities issued on 24 October 2024.
Transition to SKD 2025 in statistical surveys will be gradual
The changes introduced by the revised version of SKD require an adjustment in the use of SKD as a mandatory national standard for determining activities and classifying business entities and their units, intended for use in official and other administrative data collections and for statistical and analytical purposes at the national and international level.
During the transition, data in statistical surveys will still be collected, processed and published according to SKD 2008. Transition periods for individual surveys will vary, while full transition is expected to be completed by 2029. A first draft of planned transitions to SKD 2025 in particular statistical surveys (only in Slovenian) is available and will be further updated.
More information about changes from from SKD 2008 to SKD 2025 in the Slovenian Business Register (PRS) is available on the websites of the Agency of the Republic Slovenia for Public Legal Records and Related Services (AJPES) and on the SPOT portal.
Detailed explanatory notes to SKD 2025
The final version of the explanatory notes to SKD 2025 (only in Slovenian) is available (based on the fifth version of the explanatory notes to NACE Rev. 2.1) (in Slovenian only). The more detailed explanatory notes to SKD 2025 that are no longer part of the new regulation will be further updated based on changes to the NACE Rev. 2.1 explanatory notes and/or other changes.
More information about SKD is available on the SURS website (Economic Classifications, SKD – Standard Classification of Activities).
