The highest number of persons in employment to date, noticeable increase among youth
Compared to the previous month, the number of persons in employment increased by about 3,200, reaching a total of about 947,800. The most significant growth was observed in the age group 15–24.

Second consecutive monthly increase in the number of persons in employment
In October, the number of persons in employment grew to just under 947,800, which is the largest number since we started monitoring register data. Compared to the previous month, there were about 3,200 more persons in employment, a 0.3% increase. The number of persons in paid employment grew by about 3,000 or 0.4% and the number of self-employed persons by around 200 or 0.2%.
The number of women in employment increased slightly more (by about 1,700 or 0.4%) than the number of men (by about 1,500 or 0.3%).
On an annual basis, the number of persons in employment grew by 1.1%. Among these, the number of persons in paid employment increased by 1.0%, and the number of self-employed persons by 2.1%. Both men and women in employment recorded growth, the former by 1.6% and the latter by 0.5%.
More young persons in employment
When comparing persons in employment by age groups, the most significant monthly increases were observed among those aged 15–24 (up by more than 1,700 or 4.0%) and 25–29 (up by about 1,200 or 1.4%). This growth can be attributed to young people entering the labor market after completing their education earlier this year.
Year-over-year, the number of persons in employment in these two age groups also increased, by 0.1% in the 15–24 age group and by 1.2% in the 25–29 age group.
In October, the largest age group was 45–49 years with about 141,300 or 14.9% of all persons in employment.
Noticeable growth in several sections of activities
On a monthly basis, an increase in persons in employment was observed in 16 sections of activities and a decrease in 4. The most significant growth was recorded in education, with nearly 600 more persons in employment, a 0.7% increase. This was followed by manufacturing (up by just under 600 or 0.3%), human health and social work activities (up by around 600 or 0.7%), and professional, scientific, and technical activities (up by about 500 or 0.8%). Conversely, the most noticeable decline was recorded in administrative and support service activities, where the number of persons in employment dropped by nearly 300 or 0.9%.
Year-over-year, the number of persons in employment increased in 13 sections of activities and declined in seven. The most significant growth was recorded in construction, i.e. by nearly 4,000 or 5.1%.
