Agricultural input prices lower in September, but slightly higher in the 3rd quarter
In September, agricultural input prices decreased compared to the previous month and the same month last year, while in the 3rd quarter they were slightly higher than in the 2nd quarter. At the monthly level, prices of animal feedingstuffs went down the most.

Agricultural input prices decreased on average by 0.6%. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (input 1) went down by 0.9% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (input 2) by 0.1%.
Within the first group (input 1), the prices of the following groups decreased: animal feedingstuffs (by 2.1%), energy and lubricants (by 1.1%), maintenance of materials (by 0.2%) and fertilizers (by 0.1%).
Within the second group (input 2), the prices of materials remained the same as in the previous month, while the prices of buildings were lower by 0.4%.
… at the annual level still price decreases
Agricultural input prices were on average 2.7% lower than a year ago. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went down by 5.3%, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment went up by 2.9%.
Compared to September 2023, the prices of fertilizers were lower by 14.9%, of animal feedingstuffs by 13.5% and of energy and lubricants by 5.0%.
In the 3rd quarter slightly higher than in the 2nd, but lower than in the same period last year
Between July and September, agricultural input prices were on average 0.2% higher than in the second quarter, but 3.0% lower than in the 3rd quarter last year.
Compared to the second quarter, the prices of goods and services for current consumption as well as for investment in agriculture went up on average by 0.2%.
In the first group (input 1), the highest price increase was recorded at energy and lubricants (by 1.4%), while in the second group (input 2) only the prices of buildings increased (by 0.6%).
