Service and trade production slightly lower than in the previous month
In August, production at the monthly level decreased in trade and increased in services. It went up the most in administrative and support service activities.
At the monthly level, growth in services and decline in trade
Service and trade production went down by 0.5% over the previous month. In service activities, production grew by 0.9%, while in trade, it decreased by 0.7%.
Among service activities, production increased the most in administrative and support service activities (by 3.3%), followed by accommodation and food service activities (by 0.8%), and information and communication (by 0.7%). On the other hand, a decrease was recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 2.5%), real estate activities (by 1.5%), and transportation and storage (by 0.3%).
At the annual level, for the fourth time in a row the highest growth in real estate activities
Compared to last August, service and trade production grew by 2.9%: in trade by 4.1% and in service activities by 1.8%.
Among service activities, growth was the largest in real estate activities, which grew for the fourth consecutive month (this time by 12.6%), followed by accommodation and food service activities (by 7.5%), administrative and support service activities (by 4.0%), and information and communication (by 1.6%). A decline was recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 4.5%) and transportation and storage (by 0.3%).
In the first eight months of this year, service and trade production grew by 2.4% over the same period of the previous year. In trade it went up by 2.6% and in service activities by 2.0%. It increased in five out of six groups of service activities, the most in real estate activities (by 7.2%).
