The total environmental protection expenditure in the general government sector in 2022 amounted to EUR 512.24 million or 9.6% more than the year before.
Environmental protection expenditure I higher than a year ago
Environmental protection expenditure I is the sum of environmental protection investment plus current expenditure minus receipts from by-products and environmental protection activities. In 2022, it amounted to EUR 325.47 million, which was 26.2% more than in the previous year.
Total environmental protection expenditure II also higher
Environmental protection expenditure II is the sum of environmental protection expenditure I plus fees and purchases for environmental protection plus subsidies/transfers minus environmental protection revenues received from other sectors. It amounted to EUR 512.24 million, which was 9.6% more than in the previous year.
In 2022, the value of environmental protection expenditure II represented 0.90% of gross domestic product.
