Output of environmental protection services and environmental protection expenditure higher than in 2021
In 2022, the total output of environmental protection services was 15.5% higher and the total environmental protection expenditure 9.0% higher than in the previous year.
Total output of environmental protection services higher than a year earlier
The total output (market and non-market) of environmental protection services amounted to EUR 550.8 million, which is 15.5% more than in 2021.
Output of environmental protection services of specialised producers amounted to EUR 239.9 million, which is 11.5% more than a year earlier. Output of these services by ancillary producers amounted to EUR 203.6 million, which is 24.6% more. Output of these services by the general government increased by 9.1% to EUR 107.4 million.
Total environmental protection expenditure also up
The total environmental protection expenditure (expenditure of general government, specialised and ancillary producers) in 2022 amounted to EUR 697.7 million, which is 9.0% more than in the previous year.
Specialised producers spent EUR 78.6 million on environmental protection or 13.0% less than a year earlier. On the other hand, ancillary producers spent EUR 293.6 million or 0.5% more. Environmental protection expenditure of the general government amounted to EUR 325.5 million or 26.2% more.
The total environmental protection expenditure represented 1.2% of gross domestic product.
