Statistics of building permits, August 2024
Fewer building permits issued
Compared to July, 7% fewer building permits were issued: for residential buildings 9% fewer and for non-residential buildings 6% fewer. On the other hand, 11% more dwellings were planned.
Floor area of non-residential buildings smaller by over a half
The total floor area of all planned buildings was almost 156,000 m2, which is 23% less than in July. The total floor area of planned residential buildings increased by 44%, mostly because of planned construction of three- and more residential buildings, while the total floor area of non-residential buildings decreased by more than a half (52%). The floor area of non-residential buildings decreased in almost all types of non-residential buildings, the most in buildings for public entertainment, education or hospital and institutional care (by 62%) and in industrial buildings and warehouses (by 60%). The floor area of these buildings was smaller, because in July larger educational buildings and warehouses were planned.
More dwellings planned in two- and more dwelling buildings
By issuing building permits, in August construction of 348 dwellings was planned, which is 11% more than in the previous month. In one-dwelling buildings 6% fewer dwellings were planned and in two- and more dwelling buildings a third more. One dwelling was planned in a non-residential building.
More than half of dwellings to be built in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region
In August, most dwellings were planned in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region: 184 or 53% of all. Of these, 147 dwellings were planned in two- and more dwelling buildings and 37 in one-dwelling buildings. Osrednjeslovenska was followed by Podravska with 34 dwellings (10% of all) and Gorenjska with 26 dwellings (8%). In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in Obalno-kraška, five.
