Business users sent more SMSs
In the 2nd quarter of this year, the number of mobile network users or active SIM cards and data transfer continued to increase. At the annual level, there were less outgoing national and international mobile telephone traffic.
Key statistics
Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2023, we recorded:
The number of fixed IP telephone connections has been declining for two years
There were fewer than 48,000 fixed classical telephone connections. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2023, their number decreased by 14%. The number of IP telephone connections went down as well, namely by 4%. The number of VoIP connections has been falling for two years and has decreased by 6% since the 2nd quarter of 2022.
The number of short private messages down, business up
Mobile network users sent over 498 million SMS messages or 5% fewer than in the 2nd quarter of 2023. The number of short messages sent by private users fell by 7%, while the number of SMSs sent by business users grew by 4%.

Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2023, we recorded:
- 3% more mobile network users or active SIM cards,
- 2% less national outgoing mobile telephone traffic,
- 5% less international outgoing mobile telephone traffic,
- 27% more data transfer in mobile network,
- 8% more optical fibre Internet connections.
