Significantly more goods handled in the port
Buses in urban public scheduled transport carried more than 2.7 million passengers in July. The number of new pasenger cars registered for the first time went up by a fifth compared to July 2023. In the port of Koper 11% more goods in containers were handled.
More passengers in public scheduled transport
Buses in urban public scheduled transport carried more than 2.7 million passengers, which was 5% more than in the previous July. Buses in intercity public scheduled transport carried 1.1 million passengers. They performed 17 million passenger kilometers, which was 4% less.
Significantly more passenger cars registered for the first time
In July, around 12,000 road motor vehicles were registered for the first time in Slovenia, which was 18% more than the year before. Of these, over 8,200 passenger cars were registered for the first time, or a fifth more. Of these, almost 4,500 were new ones, also a fifth more than in July last year.
More road border crossings by goods vehicles
9.1 million passenger vehicles entered or exited Slovenia via road border crossings, 5% fewer than in the previous July. The number was the largest at the border with Croatia, where 4.1 million entered or exited. There were 1.9 million goods vehicles, which was 4% more than the year before, and the largest traffic of these vehicles was at the border with Croatia, where 0.7 million vehicles entered or left Slovenia.
More passenger kilometres performed in rail transport
Trains carried 1.4 million passengers, which was 4% more. They performed 103 million passenger kilometres, which was 9% more than last July.
More goods and passengers at airports
About 162,000 passengers departed from or arrived at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which was 8% more than last July. 1,020 tonnes of goods were handled, which was a tenth more than in July 2023.
More containers handled in the port of Koper
In July 2024, 339 ships arrived in or departed from Slovenian ports, a tenth fewer than in the same month of the previous year, of which 46 ships were for the transport of passengers. They counted 22,100 passengers, of whom 18,900 in the port of Koper and 3,200 in the port of Piran. 2,1 million tonnes of goods were handled in the port of Koper, or 15% more. 0,8 million tonnes of them were handled in containers, which was 11% more than in July 2023.
