The value of external trade in goods higher
The value of external trade in goods grew with both groups of countries (EU Member States and non-member countries). Compared to July 2023, the growth of imports from non-member countries was the highest, due to the high increase in the values of operations involving processing.

Trade value up with both groups of countries
Compared to July 2023, the value of exports to EU Member States was higher by 11.3% and of imports by 10.6%. Exports to EU Member States amounted to EUR 2.7 billion and imports from there to EUR 2.6 billion.
Slovenia exported just under half of all goods value (49.9%) to EU Member States, and imported from there slightly over half of total import value (51.3%).
The value of Slovenia’s external trade with EU non-member countries also increased. Exports to those countries amounted to EUR 2.7 billion (41.8% more), and imports from those countries to EUR 2.5 billion (74.0% more).
Growth of external trade also in the first seven months
In the period from January to July, external trade was higher than in the same period of the previous year. The value of exports of goods was 9.6% higher (it amounted to EUR 35.8 billion), while the value of imports of goods increased by 16.5% (it amounted to EUR 38.0 billion).
External trade deficit amounted to EUR 2.2 billion in this period, the export-import ratio was 94.2%.

- Exports were 24.8% higher than in previous July.
- The growth rate of exports to EU non-member countries was at 41.8% over previous July; without operations involving processing1, exports to the latter increased by 30.0% to EUR 971.5 million.
- The value went up by 34.5% compared to a year ago.
- The value of imports from EU non-member countries went up by 74.0%; without operations involving processing1, imports from the latter increased by 3.1% to EUR 819.1 million.
