Import prices lower
In July 2024 import prices were 0.3% lower than in the previous month and 0.8% lower than a year ago. On a monthly basis, we recorded the most noticeable decrease in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (5.3%).

Compared to June, in July import prices were 0.3% lower. At the monthly level, the prices of products supplied from the euro area were unchanged, the prices of products imported from the non-euro were lower by 0.8%.
Compared to June, consumer goods prices decreased by 0.5%, energy prices by 0.3%, intermediate goods prices and capital goods prices decreased by 0.2%.
The highest decrease in July was observed in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (5.3%). On the other hand, the highest increase was observed in the group Tobacco products (by 3.5%).

From July 2023 to July 2024 import prices decreased by 0.8%. In the same period the prices of products supplied from the euro area went up by 0.6% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area went down by 2.8%.
The prices of imports decreased the most in the section mining and quarrying (by 9.1%), among which the highest decrease was recorded in the group crude petroleum and natural gas (11.3%). The prices increased the most in the group tobacco products (by 10.8%).
