METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
Data are published as experimental statistics, as Eurostat for the first time obtained the privately held data directly from international online booking platforms for analysing the scope of collaborative economy in the field of short-term accommodation rentals. The methodology of data analysis is being developed and therefore does not yet meet the criteria of official statistics. Only aggregated data for the four platforms are released due to the protection of reporting units’ confidentiality.
