METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
In accordance with the plan for upgrading statistical surveys on earnings, we switched to the new administrative data source with the reference month of April 2024. For preparing monthly statistics on earnings of persons in paid employment by legal persons and thus for calculating average monthly gross and net earnings, we used data from the withholding tax calculation for incomes from which withholding tax and/or social security contributions are calculated (REK-O form).

Due to the transition to a new data source (REK-O form), in order to ensure a comparable time series, in the new tables in the SiStat Database we also published data on average monthly earnings of persons in paid employment by legal persons for the period from January 2023 to March 2024 calculated based on this data source.

If we take into account the data from the REK-O form, the amount of average gross earnings of persons in paid employment by legal persons differs slightly from the already published (official) data. Additional explanations are available on this link.

Data on average earnings for the period up to and including March 2024, calculated from the new data source (REK-O form), are taken into account as a basis for comparison also when calculating the indices of average gross and net earnings when publishing data on average monthly earnings of persons in paid employment by legal persons for reference periods from April 2024 on.

Already published (official) data on the amount of earnings by individual months (for the period up to and including March 2024) are not changed due to these calculations from the new source.

Additional explanations are available in the methodological explanations.

Data are not seasonally adjusted.
