Sentiment indicator slightly up in the last month of the year

The sentiment indicator was positively influenced by the confidence indicator among consumers and negatively by the construction indicator, while the other indicators had a minimal effect.

Up at the monthly level

The value of the sentiment indicator was at −2.6 percentage points (p.p.), 0.5 p.p. higher than in the previous month (at −3.1 p.p.).

The sentiment indicator was positively influenced by the confidence indicator among consumers (by 0.7 p.p.) and to a lesser extent in manufacturing (by 0.1 p.p.). On the other hand, it was negatively influenced by the confidence indicator in construction (by 0.3 p.p.), while the confidence indicators in services and in retail trade had no influence.

Smaller improvement also at the annual level

At the annual level, the value of the sentiment indicator was higher by 0.4 p.p.

The improvement of the indicator was influenced by three out of five indicators: among consumers (by 0.9 p.p.), in services (by 0.2 p.p.) and in retail trade (also by 0.2 p.p.). On the other hand, lower values of confidence indicators in construction and manufacturing (by 0.6 and 0.4 p.p., respectively) had a negative impact.
