Import price indices, October 2023
The prices of imported products lower both monthly and annually.
In October 2023 import prices were 0.3% lower than in the previous month and 4.0% lower than a year ago. On a monthly basis, we recorded the most noticeable decrease in the group coke and refined petroleum products (3.2%).

Compared to September, in October import prices were 0.3% lower. At the monthly level, the prices of products supplied from the euro area were lower by 0.5%, the prices of products imported from the non-euro were higher by 0.1%.
Compared to September, energy prices decreased by 1.3%, consumer goods prices by 0.5%, intermediate goods prices by 0.2%, while capital goods prices increased by 0.2%.

From October 2022 to October 2023 import prices decreased by 4.0%. In the same period the prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 2.6% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 5.8%.
The prices of imports decreased the most in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 37.3%).
