More passengers in ports than a year ago
Compared to the previous September, the number of passengers increased in all modes of transport, the most in port traffic.
More passengers in urban scheduled transport
Buses in urban public scheduled transport carried more than 3.4 million passengers, which was 12% more than in the previous September. Buses in intercity and international public scheduled transport carried 2.6 million passengers, which was about the same as in the same month of the previous year. In total, 48 million passenger kilometres were performed, which was 1% more.
More new passenger cars registered for the first time
In September of this year, almost 10,300 road motor vehicles were registered for the first time in Slovenia, which was 14% more than the year before. Of these, almost 7,300 passenger cars (11% more) were registered for the first time, and of these, over 4,000 (7% more) were new ones.
Significantly more road border crossings by passengers vehicles
2.6 million passenger vehicles entered or exited Slovenia via road border crossings, which was 22% more than in the previous September. There were 1.8 million goods vehicles, which was 18% more than the year before.
Passenger kilometres performed in rail transport significantly up
Trains carried 1.4 million passengers, which was 4% more than last September. They performed 92 million passenger kilometres, which was 23% more.
Less goods handled at airports
About 140,000 passengers departed from or arrived at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which was about a sixth (18%) more at the annual level. More than 900 tonnes of goods were handled, which was 14% less.
Significantly more passengers in the ports
315 ships arrived in or departed from Slovenian ports, almost the same as last year, of which 42 ships were for the transport of passengers. In total, 18,900 passengers were counted, which was 61% more than the year before. More than 1.4 million tonnes of goods were handled in the port of Koper, which was 30% less.
