In September 2023, more net electricity generated than in September 2022

Compared to the same month last year, electricity production in September 2023 increased, energy supply decreased.

Total net electricity generation higher, import lower than a year ago

In September 2023, total net electricity generation was 1.204 GWh. Compared to August, it decreased by 16%, and compared to September 2022 it increased by 18%. Generation in hydro power plants was 28% higher, in thermal power plants 29% higher and in the nuclear power plant 2% higher.

In line with the higher production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption also increased. Total fuel consumption was 19% higher than a year ago.

630 GWh of electricity was imported and 876 GWh was exported. Compared to the same month last year, import decreased by 25% and export increased by 10%.

Electricity consumption in business entities higher than in the previous month, in households lower

Households consumed 218 GWh and business entities 588 GWh of electricity. With 304 GWh consumed, manufacturing dominated. Compared to August, electricity consumption in households went down by 6%, while in business entities it went up by 5%.

Energy supply up at the monthly and down at the annual level

Compared to August, the supply of energy commodities in general went up with exception of LPG supply fall with 13%, Motor Gasoline supply fall with 12% and Kerosene Jet Fuel supply fall with 12%. It increased by 66% with Hard Coal, 21% with Heating and Other Gasoil, 18% with Lignite and Brown Coal, 14% with Other Petroleum Products, 14% with Natural Gas, 9% with Transport Diesel Oil and 5% with Coke Oven Coke.

Compared to September 2022, the supply of energy commodities decreased as 40% with Hard Coal, 29% with LPG, 25% with Coke Oven Coke, 18% with Other Petroleum Products, 5% with Transport Diesel Oil and 5% with Natural Gas.
