Average earnings higher than earnings for July
Average earnings for August amounted to EUR 2,221.85 gross and EUR 1,441.96 net. Compared to earnings for July, they were higher in nominal terms by 0.9% and in real terms by 0.8%.

Average earnings for August 2023 amounted to EUR 2,221.85 gross and EUR 1,441.96 net. Compared to earnings for the previous month, both gross and net earnings were higher (in nominal terms by 0.9% and in real terms by 0,8%).
Compared to earnings for August of the previous year, they were higher in nominal (gross earnings by 10.7% and net earnings by 9.9%) and in real terms (gross earnings by 4.2% and net earnings by 3.5%).
Earnings higher only in the private sector
Compared to earnings for July, average gross earnings increased in the private sector by 2.2% and decreased in the public sector by 1.5% (in the institutional sector general government, they went down by 3.0%).
The highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
Average gross earnings were the highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (EUR 3,427.84) and the lowest in administrative and support service activities (EUR 1,606.99).
Compared to earnings for July, average gross earnings increased the most also in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 10.0%; mostly due to higher extra payments). On the other hand, they decreased the most in education (by 5.5%).
