Producer prices keep decreasing

Producer prices are still in a downward trend. At the monthly level they decreased by 0.5%, while at the annual level they increased by 2.1%. Prices decreased the most in manufacture of basic metals.

Prices at the monthly level down, the highest decrease in manufacture of basic metals

Compared to July, producer prices decreased by 0.5%. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market went down by 0.7% and on non-domestic markets by 0.2%. Of the latter, the prices of products for sale on the markets of euro area countries decreased by 0.8%, while those of non-euro area countries increased by 1.4%.

Intermediate goods prices fell by 1.3%. Energy prices grew by 0.8%, consumer goods prices by 0.3% and capital goods prices by 0.1%.

Prices decreased the most in manufacture of basic metals (by 4.8%), followed by manufacture of food products (by 1.7%), electricity (by 1.3%) and manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by 1.2%). On the other hand, they increased the most in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 13.8%), followed by manufacture of computer and optical products (by 2.0%) and manufacture of furniture (by 1.9%). 

At the annual level up, the highest increase in manufacture of wearing apparel

Producer prices went up by 2.1% in a year. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market increased by 3.9% and on non-domestic markets by 0.3%. Of the latter, the prices of products for sale on the markets of non-euro area countries went up by 3.1% and of euro area countries down by 1.0%.

Energy prices went up by 7.4%, consumer goods prices by 6.8% and capital goods prices by 4.4%, while intermediate goods prices went down by 1.8%. 

Prices went up the most in manufacture of wearing apparel (by 20.2%), followed by manufacture of beverages (by 16.7%), mining and quarrying (by 10.8%) and electricity (by 10.0%). They dropped the most in manufacture of basic metals (by 16.6%), followed by manufacture of paper and paper products (by 4.4%), manufacture of wood, products of wood and cork (by 2.4%) and manufacture of leather and leather products (by 2.4%).
