Exports of roundwood slightly up, imports down
Roundwood exports increased by about 3% over the previous year, while imports decreased by 12%.
Roundwood exports slightly up …
In 2022, 1.39 million cubic meters of roundwood were exported or about 3% more than a year earlier. In the group of industrial roundwood, the export of coniferous wood increased by 7%, while the export of non-coniferous wood was almost the same as in the previous year. The export of wood fuel was also higher than a year before (by almost 4%).
… imports down
About 0.78 million cubic meters of roundwood were imported or 12% less than a year earlier. The import of industrial roundwood decreased by about 13%, of which the import of coniferous industrial roundwood decreased by 8% and of non-coniferous industrial roundwood by about 28%. Wood fuel imports were also lower, namely by almost a tenth.
