Labour costs in operating expenses for the third quarter the highest in administrative and support services
In the 2nd quarter of 2023, labour costs in operating expenses, the operating efficiency ratio and value added in net sales revenues were the highest in service activities.

Labour costs for all NACE activities combined accounted for 15% of operating expenses. For the third consecutive quarter, they were the highest in administrative and support service activities, where this share amounted to 52%. In human health and social work activities the share was 49% and in other service activities 41%.

At the level of all NACE activities combined, operating revenues were 6% higher than operating expenses. Real estate activities performed the best, with the indicator value of 143%, followed by human health and social work activities with 124%, and other service activities with 117%.
… as well as in value added in net sales revenues
Value added in net sales revenues at the level of all NACE activities remained the same as in the previous quarter (24%). Among individual activities, the share was again the highest in human health and social work activities, amounting to 68%. In administrative and support service activities it was 62% and in other service activities 58%.

In 2022 and 2023, energy crisis had an impact on business operations. Subsidies related to business effects are also taken into account in the calculation of operational revenues and value added. In accordance with accounting standards, enterprises also include state aid due to high energy costs among these subsidies, and this should be taken into account when comparing data on a year-on-year basis.
