Domestic visitors again made more same-day trips in Slovenia than in neighbouring countries
The number of domestic tourists and visitors as well as the number of foreign tourists travelling with Slovenian travel agencies started to grow.
In 2022, too, fewer domestic tourists decided to travel in Slovenia
In 2022, travel agencies organised travel with at least one night for 488,000 domestic tourists; 87,000 or 18% of them travelled in Slovenia and 401,000 or 82% to other countries.
A year before, 62% of domestic tourists travelled abroad and 38% in Slovenia. At the annual level, the share of travels abroad thus increased by 20 percentage points.
The top destination country of domestic tourists travelling abroad was Croatia, followed by Greece, Italy and Egypt. A year before, it was Croatia, followed by Greece, Egypt and Italy.

Domestic visitors made more trips in Slovenia than abroad
Same-day trips organised by Slovenian travel agencies were attended by 665,000 domestic visitors; 411,000 or 62% of them made same-day trips in Slovenia and about 253,000 or 38% abroad.
A year before, 90% of the 65,000 domestic visitors made trips in Slovenia and about 10% abroad.
The top destination country of same-day visitors abroad was Croatia, followed by Austria and Italy. A year before, it was Italy, followed by Austria and Croatia.

Most foreign tourists brought by Slovenian travel agencies from Germany
In 2022, Slovenian travel agencies organised travels for 90,000 foreign tourists, who spent on average four nights in Slovenia. Most foreign tourists were brought from Germany, followed by Austria and the United States of America.
A year before, 28,000 foreign tourists stayed in Slovenia, most of them from Germany, followed by France and Czechia.
