Average earnings slightly lower than earnings for May

Compared to earnings for May, average gross earnings for June were lower in nominal terms by 0.1% and in real terms by 1.5%.

At the monthly level earnings slightly lower, at the semi-annual level higher

Average gross earnings for June 2023 amounted to EUR 2,205.81. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.1% and in real terms by 1.5%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,431.61. At the monthly level, they decreased in nominal terms by 0.2% and in real terms by 1.6%.

Average monthly earnings for the first half of this year were higher than earnings for the same period last year; gross earnings grew in nominal terms by 10.2% (and net earnings by 10.5%) and in real terms by 1.0% (and net earnings by 1.3%).

At the semi-annual level earnings higher in both sectors, public and private

Compared to earnings for May, average gross earnings increased in the public sector by 1.0% (in the institutional sector general government they went up by 2.5%) and decreased in the private sector by 0.7%.

Compared to earnings for the first half of last year, average monthly gross earnings for the same period this year were higher in both sectors; in nominal terms in the private sector by 10.0% (in real terms by 0.8%) and in the public sector by 10.4% (in real terms by 1.2%). In the institutional sector general government, which is a part of the public sector, they were higher in nominal terms by 9.8% (in real terms by 0.6%).

The highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply

Compared to earnings for the first half of last year, average monthly gross earnings for the same period this year increased in nominal terms in all sections of activities; the most in mining and quarrying (in nominal terms by 17.7%, in real terms by 7.9%) and the least in information and communication (in nominal terms by 7.7%, in real terms they were lower by 1.3%).

Average gross earnings were the highest at the monthly as well as at the semi-annual level in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
