In April 2023, more net electricity generated than in April 2022

Compared to the same month last year, electricity production in April 2023 increased, energy supply decreased.

Total net electricity generation higher, import lower than a year ago

In April 2023, total net electricity generation was 1.165 GWh. Compared to March, it decreased by 2%, and compared to April 2022 it increased by 6%. Generation in hydro power plants was 27% higher, in thermal power plants 12% lower and in the nuclear power plant 1% higher.

In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption also decreased. Total fuel consumption was 12% lower than a year ago.

741 GWh of electricity was imported and 851 GWh was exported. Compared to the same month last year, import decreased by 3% and export increased by 16%.

Electricity consumption lower than in the previous month

In April, households consumed 283 GWh and business entities 558 GWh of electricity. With 289 GWh consumed, manufacturing dominated. Compared to the previous month, electricity consumption in households went down by 10% and in business entities by 13%.

Energy supply down at the monthly and annual level

Compared to March, the supply of energy commodities in general went down with exception of Motor Gasoline supply rise with 19% and Other Petroleum Products supply rise with 1%. It decreased by 35% with Coke Oven Coke, 28% with Lignite and Brown Coal, 16% with Heating and Other Gasoil, 16% with LPG, 12% with Natural Gas and 8% with Transport Diesel Oil.

Compared to April 2022, the supply of energy commodities decreased as 46% with Lignite and Brown Coal, 27% with Transport Diesel Oil, 25% with Coke Oven Coke, 13% with LPG, 12% with Hard Coal, 10% with Kerosene Jet Fuel, 4% with Natural Gas and 4% with Other Petroleum Products.
