Energy dependency higher than in the previous year
Domestic energy resources covered 47% of domestic energy needs; the petroleum products were fully supplied from imports.
Less than half of the energy demand was met with domestic energy resources
Total amount of domestic energy sources in Slovenia in 2022 was 3.2 million toe (= 132 PJ), which is by 7% less than in the previous year.
Slovenia met 47% of domestic energy demand with domestic energy resources, the rest of the energy was supplied from imports. The entire quantity of petroleum products was imported.
Petroleum products prevailed in the energy supply
Total primary energy supply of Slovenia was 6.5 million toe (= 274 PJ), which is by 0.3% less than in the previous year.
In the structure of supplied energy in 2022, petroleum products prevailed with 37%, followed by nuclear energy with almost 23%, renewable energy sources (including hydro energy) with almost 18%, coal with 12% and natural gas with almost 11%.
