Average earnings higher than earnings for October
Average gross earnings for November were higher than earnings for October, in nominal terms by 10.9% and in real terms by 9.9%. Such an increase was mainly due to higher extra payments (13th month payments and Christmas bonuses).

Average gross earnings for November 2022 amounted to EUR 2,244.35. Compared to earnings for October, they were higher in nominal terms by 10.9% and in real terms by 9.9%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,479.56. Compared to earnings for October, they were higher in nominal terms by 12.3% and in real terms by 11.3%. The substantial increase in average earnings was mainly due to higher extra payments (13th month payments and Christmas bonuses).
Extra payments paid with earnings for November 2022 were received by 23.4% of persons in paid employment who received earnings (i.e. 1.5 percentage points fewer than for November 2021). Average extra payments amounted to EUR 928.90 gross and were 16.6% higher than extra payments for November 2021.
Earnings increased more in the private sector
Compared to earnings for October, average gross earnings increased in both sectors; in the private sector by 13.9% and in the public sector by 5.4% (in the institutional sector general government they were about the same as earnings for October).
The highest in financial and insurance activities
Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities (EUR 3,673.05), where they increased the most (by 30.3%; mainly due to higher extra payments) compared to earnings for October.
