Population increase in 3rd quarter
In the 3rd quarter 2022 the population increased by more than 1,800. On 1 October, there were 8.6% foreign citizens among the 2,110,547 residents of Slovenia.
Fewer citizens of Slovenia, more foreign citizens
On 1 October 2022 Slovenia had 1,815 residents more than three months earlier. In the 3rd quarter of the year the number of citizens of Slovenia decreased by nearly 1,000, while the number of foreign citizens increased by 2,800.
Increased share of women among foreign citizens
On 1 July 2022, the population of Slovenia consisted of 1,060,442 men and 1,050,105 women. The share of women among citizens of Slovenia was 51.1% (this share has been slowly decreasing for a number of years) and among foreign citizens 35.8% (after more than two years of decrease, their share has been increasing since 1 April 2020).
