Supply and use tables for the year 2020

Total supply of goods and services on the Slovenian territory in 2020 reached 93.4% of the 2019 value; the value of domestic production was 95.2% and the value of imports 89.3% of the value in the previous year.

In the supply on the domestic territory, domestic production represented 69.9%: for goods 47.4%, for services 90.0%

The share of domestic production of goods and services in total supply on the domestic territory at purchasers' prices increased in 2020 reaching 69.9%. The share of imports was 25.8%, and the share of net taxes (taxes less subsidies on products) 4.4%. In 2019, domestic production represented 68.5% in total supply on the domestic territory, imports 26.9% and net taxes 4.6%.

As regards goods, in 2020 domestic production had a 47.4% share, imports a 46.3% share and net taxes on products a 6.3% share of total supply. As regards services, domestic production represented 90.0%, imports 7.3% and net taxes on products 2.7% of total supply. Goods are considered as groups of products of agriculture, forestry, fishery, mining and quarrying, and manufacturing activities, i.e. according to CPA classification, and services are considered as groups of products from electricity, gas, steam and further.

Goods contributed 32.1% in the structure of domestic production in 2020 in Slovenia and services 67.9%. In 2019, the share of goods in total domestic production was 33.5% and of services 66.5%.
 
The share of goods in imports was 85.1% in 2020 and the share of services 14.9%, which is the same as in 2019.

In 2020, 67.8% of net taxes were realized in transactions with goods and 32.2% in transactions with services. In 2019, the shares were 67.1% and 32.9%. The highest share of net taxes on products in 2020 was realized by transactions with refined petroleum products, 24.4% of all net taxes; however, this is lower than the share in 2019 (27.4%). It was followed by food products, beverages and tobacco products with 17.6% of all net taxes (16.1% in 2019).

In total supply on the domestic territory at purchasers’ prices, in 2020 goods thus had a 54.1% share and services a 45.9% share. In 2019, the shares were 55.2% and 44.8%.

36.5% of disposable goods and services on the domestic territory was used for intermediate consumption and 19.0% for household consumption, while the share of government consumption increased to 7.8%

Of the total value of goods and services at purchasers’ prices that were available on the domestic territory from domestic production and imports in 2020, 36.5% was used for intermediate consumption in production processes, 19.0% for final household consumption, 28.8% of goods and services were exported, 7.1% was represented by gross fixed capital formation, 7.8% by government consumption, and the rest was consumption of non-profit institutions and changes in inventories. In 2019, however, intermediate consumption represented 36.8%, final household consumption 20.0%, exports 28.8%, capital formation 7.1% and government consumption 6.7%. 

Goods had a 47.9% share in intermediate consumption in 2020; the rest was the share of services. In household consumption goods represented 53.9% and in exports 80.6%. In 2019, the shares regarding the use of goods were as follows: 48.7% in intermediate consumption, 52.5% in household consumption and 81.2% in exports.
