Again, fewer births than deaths
According to provisional data for October 2022, 6% fewer children were born and 10% fewer people died. October was again the month with natural decrease; 271 fewer births than deaths were recorded.
Fewer live births
1,523 children were born (98 or 6% fewer than in October 2021). On average 49 children were born per day (3 fewer than a year before).
Fewer deaths
1,794 people died. This is 196 (10%) fewer than in October 2021 and 244 (16%) more than in September 2022. On average 58 people died per day (64 a year earlier).
Excess mortality (i.e. excess number of deaths compared to the average number of deaths in October in 2015–2019) was 7%.
What do data for November show us?
According to the first estimate, 1,135 people died between 1 and 20 November 2022. In the same period of 2021, 1,629 people died.
