Fewer building permits issued than in July but more dwellings planned
In August, 5% fewer building permits were issued and 3% more dwellings were planned than in the previous month.
Floor area of non-residential buildings smaller by over a half
In August, 5% fewer building permits were issued than in the previous month. For residential buildings 7% more building permits were issued and for non-residential buildings 17% fewer. The total floor area of all planned buildings was almost 157,000 m2, which is about a quarter (26%) less than in July. The total floor area of planned residential buildings increased by 29%, while the total floor area of planned non-residential buildings decreased by more than a half (52%). It is smaller because in July larger industrial buildings, warehouses and buildings for public entertainment, education or hospital and institutional care were planned.
More dwellings planned
By issuing building permits, in August construction of 308 dwellings was planned, which is 3% more than in the previous month. In one-dwelling buildings 11% more dwellings were planned and in two- and more dwelling buildings 21% fewer dwellings were planned than in the previous month.
Most dwellings to be built in the Podravska statistical region
In August, most dwellings were planned in the Podravska statistical region: 83 or 27% of all. 73 dwellings (24% of all) were planned in Osrednjeslovenska and 34 dwellings (11% of all) in Savinjska statistical region. In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in Zasavska, only two.
