Monthly number of registrations down, of bankruptcies up

At the monthly level there were more bankruptcies and fewer registrations. At the quarterly level it was the opposite. In the 2nd quarter, bankruptcies went down the most in industry and up in information and communication. The most registrations were in accommodation and food service activities.

The number of registrations lower at the monthly level, but higher at the quarterly level 

In June, the number of registrations decreased compared to May by 5.5% and increased compared to the 2015 average by 19.0%. Compared to June 2021 there were no major differences. 

In the 2nd quarter of 2022, the number of registrations was higher at all levels: compared to the previous quarter by 4.7%, the same quarter of 2021 by 8.6% and the 2015 average by 19.3%.
At the quarterly and annual level, the number increased the most in accommodation and food service activities (by 27.1% and 22.7%, respectively). Compared to the same quarter of 2021 and the 2015 average, the number decreased the most in retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (by 11.1% and 34.4%, respectively).

Compared to the 2015 average, the registrations increased in almost all activities with the exception of retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. It increased the most in education, health, social work, arts and other service activities except activities of membership organizations (by 51.7%), followed by construction (by 49.8%) and accommodation and food service activities (by 48.5%). For the past five quarters, the number was above the 2015 average.

The number of bankruptcies monthly higher and quarterly lower

Compared to May 2022 and June 2021, the number of bankruptcies went up by 3.9% and 27.3%, respectively, and compared to the 2015 average down by 5.1%.

In total the number of bankruptcies in the 2nd quarter of 2022 was lower at all levels: compared to the previous quarter by 1.8%, the same quarter of 2021 by 4.4% and the 2015 average by 11.1%. It decreased the most in industry (quarterly by 21.7%, annually by 35.7% and compared to the 2015 average by 51.4%).
Compared to the previous quarter and one year ago, the number increased the most in information and communication (by 50.0%).

Compared to the 2015 average, the number in the last six quarters was below the average. Compared to the 2015 average, in the observed quarter it went up the most in transportation and storage (by 58.7%).
