Average earnings slightly lower than earnings for March
Compared to earnings for the previous month, average gross earnings for April were lower, in nominal terms by 0.3% and in real terms by 2.8%. They were the highest in financial and insurance activities.

Average gross earnings for April 2022 amounted to EUR 2,001.93. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.3% and in real terms by 2.8%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,304.32. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.2% and in real terms by 2.7%.
Earnings higher in the public sector and lower in the private sector
Compared to earnings for March, average gross earnings were higher in the public sector by 1.2% (in the institutional sector general government they were higher by 3.3%), while in the private sector they were lower by 1.1%.
The highest in financial and insurance activities
Compared to earnings for March, average gross earnings increased the most in education (by 4.1%) and decreased the most in financial and insurance activities (by 13.0%; mainly due to lower extra payments); nevertheless, gross earnings were the highest in those activities (EUR 3,087.86).
