The value of construction put in place down at the monthly and up at the annual level
The value of construction put in place in March 2022 was 7.8% lower than in the previous month and 12.3% higher than a year ago.

At the monthly level, the value of construction put in place decreased by 7.8%. As regards buildings it went down by 14.6% (on residential buildings by 13.6% and on non-residential buildings by 20.1%). As regards specialised construction activities it went down by 4.1%, while as regards civil engineering it went up by 1.7%.
… but higher than a year ago …
At the annual level, the value of construction put in place increased by 12.3%. As regards buildings it went up by 38.0% and as regards civil engineering by 11.5%, while as regards specialised construction activities it went down by 24.9%.
… and also higher in comparison with the first quarter of 2021
The value of construction put in place in the first three months of 2022 increased by 19.2% compared to the same period of the previous year. As regards buildings it went up by 33.4% and as regards civil engineering by 17.4%, while as regards specialised construction activities it went down by 15.7%.

METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
In 2022, the method of reporting data changed and is now again comparable to 2020. To ensure the comparability of the time series, for 2021 we adjusted the data to the new methodology, recalculated all indices and published them again.
In 2022, we stopped collecting and publishing data on the stocks of contracts and new orders, which used to be published in the SiStat Database.

Data are seasonally adjusted.
Time series models were carefully revised and, if necessary, changed. The entire period was taken into account. Due to changes, larger revisions in seasonal adjustment results are possible.
Data for 2022 are provisional, while all the other data are final.
