Producer prices of agricultural products higher both in March and in the first quarter
In March 2022, producer prices of agricultural products were on average a fifth higher than a year before. The value of agricultural products was 17.5% higher at the annual level and 23.6% higher at the monthly level.
Average producer price of milk up at the annual level
The prices of animals and animal products were in March 2022 higher on average by 20.3%. The prices of animal products were higher on average by 17.8%. The average milk price was EUR 0.39 per litre and thus 20.7% higher than a year before. Higher was also the average price of eggs (by 9.1%). The prices of animals for slaughter increased on average by 23.3%. Cattle prices went up the most (by 33.8%); higher were also the prices of pigs and poultry.
The prices of crop products increased on average by 19.6%. The increase was due to higher prices of fruit, potato and wine. Vegetables prices were on average lower than a year before.
In the first quarter of 2022 potato prices much higher than a year before
In the first quarter of 2022, the prices of agricultural products were on average 18.7% higher than in the first quarter of 2021.
The prices of crop products increased on average by 23.7%. The increase was caused mostly by higher prices of potato and fruit.
The prices of animals and animal products were higher on average by 16.6%. Of animals for slaughter, the prices of cattle went up the most (by 29.0%). The milk price increased on average by 16.5%.
The value of purchased livestock much higher than a year before
The value of purchased products in the group livestock breeding was at the annual level 21.0% higher. The value of purchased livestock increased by 28.6%. The increase was caused by higher purchase prices of animals. Higher than a year before were also the values of purchased poultry (by 22.7%) and milk (by 20.1%). The value of purchased eggs decreased by 12.1%.
The value of purchased products in the group arable farming was 4.8% higher. The value of purchased alcoholic beverages increased by 23.3%. The value of purchased fruit decreased by 2.4% because a much lower quantity of apples was purchased.
The value of purchased products in the group arable farming was lower by 17.2%. The value decreased due to lower value of purchased cereals (lower quantity of products was purchased). On the other hand, the value of purchased vegetables went up by 18.5% and of potato by 13.5%.
