In December 2021, less net electricity generated than in December 2020
Compared to the same month last year, electricity production in December 2021 decreased, but supply of energy commodities increased.
Total net electricity generation in December 2021 lower, import higher than a year ago
In December 2021, total net electricity generation was 1,238 GWh. Compared to November 2021 it decreased by 1% and compared to December 2020 it decreased by 16%. Compared to December 2020, generation in hydro power plants was 41% lower, in thermal power plants 9% lower and in nuclear power plant 6% higher.
Consumption in December 2021 was higher than in previous month (by 7%) as in November 2020 (by 6%).
In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption also decreased. Total fuel consumption in December 2021 was 8% lower than in December 2020.
In December 2021, 791 GWh of electricity was imported and 688 GWh was exported. Compared to the same month last year, import increased by 43% and export decreased by 8%.
Energy supply in December 2021 higher than in November 2021 and in November 2020
In December 2021, supply of energy commodities in general went up with exception of Hard Coal supply fell with 57%, Other Petroleum Products supply fell with 29% and Coke Oven Coke supply fell with 25%. Compared with previous month we further noticed supply rise as 42% with Heating and Other Gasoil, 34% with Lignite and Brown Coal, 21% with LPG, 18% with Natural Gas, 18% with Kerosene Jet Fuel and 9% with Transport Diesel Oil.
Compared to December 2020 supply of energy commodities increased as 55% with Heating and Other Gasoil, 49% with Motor Gasoline, 35% with Diesel Oil, 9% with Lignite and Brown Coal and 7% with Natural Gas.
