Economic sentiment turned upward

In November, the economic sentiment improved after a downward trend that had lasted since the beginning of the year.

Higher at the monthly level …

The value of the sentiment indicator was at −1.8 percentage points (p.p.), 3.5 p.p. higher than in the previous month (at −5.3 p.p.).

The monthly increase was influenced by higher values of all confidence indicators: in services (by 1.5 p.p.), in manufacturing (by 1.4 p.p.), among consumers (by 0.3 p.p.), in retail trade (by 0.2 p.p.), and in construction (by 0.2 p.p.).

… but lower at the annual level

Compared to last November, the value of the sentiment indicator decreased by 4.8 p.p.

The annual decline was influenced by confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 4.5 p.p.) and among consumers (by 2.0 p.p.). The change in value was positively influenced by confidence indicators in services (by 1.1 p.p.), in retail trade (by 0.6 p.p.), and in construction (by 0.1 p.p.).
