Consumer confidence at the monthly level up …

In November, the value of the consumer confidence indicator increased by 1 percentage point (p.p.) at the monthly level.

The monthly increase in the confidence indicator resulted from more optimistic consumer expectations about the country’s economy (by 3 p.p.), about major purchases (by 1 p.p.), and opinions on current households’ finances (also by 1 p.p.). Only expectations about households’ finances were more pessimistic (by 1 p.p.).

Among other indicators, prices over the last 12 months should be mentioned. The indicator reached its highest value in the entire observation period showing that more and more consumers seem to feel rising prices. On the other hand, the value of the indicator of price trend over the next 12 months has been gradually decreasing for the last six months. This suggests that the number of consumers expecting a higher rate of inflation is decreasing.

… at the annual level down

The value of the consumer confidence indicator was 10 p.p. lower than in November 2021 and 15 p.p. below last year’s average.

All four components of the consumer confidence indicator deteriorated at the annual level: expectations about households’ finances by 15 p.p., current households’ finances by 13 p.p., expectations for major purchases by 9 p.p., and expectations about the country’s economy by 4 p.p.
