Manufacturing confidence indicator

The confidence indicator was lower in all three comparisons: by 7 percentage points (p.p.) compared to August 2022, by 16 p.p. compared to September 2021 and by 8 p.p. compared to the long-term average.

All components of the manufacturing confidence indicator deteriorated, the most expected production (by 11 p.p.), followed by stocks of finished products (by 5 p.p.) and overall order books (by 3 p.p.).

Confidence in retail trade

The confidence indicator decreased by 6 p.p. at the monthly level and increased by 8 p.p. at the annual level. It was also higher than the long-term average, by 4 p.p.

The decrease in the confidence indicator was mainly due to the deterioration of the expected sales and sales indicators, which were lower by 10 and 5 p.p., respectively. The sales indicator fell for the second month in a row.

Construction confidence indicator

The confidence indicator was 3.p.p. lower than in the previous month and 10 p.p. lower than a year ago. However, it was 23 p.p. above the long-term average.

The monthly decrease was influenced by employment expectation (by 9 p.p.), while the overall order books increased by 2 p.p.

Confidence in services

The confidence indicator decreased by 5 p.p. at the monthly level, while it remained the same at the annual level and was 5 p.p. higher than the long-term average.

The monthly decrease in the confidence indicator was mainly influenced by the decrease in the expected demand indicator and the business situation, which were lower by 8 and 5 p.p., respectively. The indicators of demand, employment, expected employment and expected sales prices did not change much compared to the previous month.
