More passengers in airport traffic than in November 2020

In November 2021, buses and trains carried more passengers than in November 2020. Airport passenger traffic also increased.

Buses carried more passengers 

Buses in urban public scheduled transport carried about 4.1 million passengers in November 2021, which was eight times more than in November 2020.

About 2.1 million passengers were carried by buses in interurban and international public scheduled transport, which was five times more than in November 2020. About 26.6 million passenger kilometres were performed by buses, which was over four times more than in November 2020.

More passenger cars registered for the first time in Slovenia 

In November 2021, just over 8,700 road motor vehicles were registered for the first time in Slovenia, one third more than in November 2020. About 6,600 passenger cars were registered for the first time, 36% more than in November 2020. Of these, about 4,000 were new, 13% more than in November 2020.

Significantly more passengers transported by rail 

Trains carried over 1.2 million passengers in November 2021, which was 152% more than in November 2020. About 56.8 million passenger kilometres were performed, which was 177% more than in November 2020.

More passengers and goods in airport traffic 

In November 2021, 45,200 passengers travelled through Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, ten times more than in November 2020. Freight traffic was larger than in November 2020; 1,035 tonnes of goods were handled, which was 9% more than in November 2020.

In Slovenian ports fewer ships, but more cargo handled 

Almost 700 passengers were recorded in Slovenian ports in November 2021. As regards traffic of vessels, 7% fewer ships arrived or departed than in November 2020. 

In the Port of Koper more than 1.6 million tonnes of goods were handled in November 2021, which was 10% more than in November 2020.

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, more goods carried by trains than in the same period of 2020

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, about 4.8 million tonnes of goods were carried by rail and fewer than 1.2 billion tonne-kilometres were performed, which was a 1% increase in goods carried and a 1% increase in tonne-kilometres performed compared to the 3rd quarter of 2020.

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, more goods carried by road than in the same period of 2020

From July to September 2021, road goods motor vehicles registered in Slovenia carried 26.5 million tonnes of goods and performed 6.1 billion tonne-kilometres, which was 8% more goods carried and 9% more tonne-kilometres performed than in the 3rd quarter of 2020.
