Import price indices, September 2025
Import prices slightly higher than in the previous month, but still lower year-on-year
Import prices in September were on average 0.1% higher than in August and 0.6% lower than a year earlier. Both at the monthly and annual levels, prices increased the most in the section electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.
Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning more expensive month-on-month
The prices of imported products were on average 0.1% higher than the month ago. The prices of products supplied from the euro area were higher by 0.3%, while the prices of products imported from the non-euro area remained unchanged.
Energy prices increased by 1.2% and capital goods prices by 0.2%. Intermediate and consumer goods prices did not change.
Compared to the previous month, prices went up the most in the section electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 5.6%), and down the most in the group other transport equipment (by 3.3%), which is part of manufactured products, where prices increased by 0.1%.
Year-on-year, still lower prices in the group coal and lignite
Compared to last September, import prices went down on average by 0.6%. The prices of products supplied from the euro area decreased by 0.1% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 0.9%.
The largest year-on-year price drops were again recorded in the section mining and quarrying in the group coal and lignite (by 14.7%), while this time the prices increased the most in the section electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 32.8%).
