The sentiment indicator slightly up

In February, the confidence indicators changed only slightly and thus had a small impact on the economic sentiment.

Slightly up at the monthly level …

The sentiment indicator reached −2.2 percentage points (p.p.) and was 0.3 p.p. higher than in January (−2.5 p.p.).

The sentiment was positively influenced by the confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 0.5 p.p.), in services (by 0.2 p.p.) and in construction (by 0.1 p.p.). The confidence indicator among consumers (by 0.6 p.p.) had a negative impact, while the confidence indicator in retail trade had no impact.

… as well as year-on-year

Compared to previous February, the value of the sentiment indicator was higher by 0.7 p.p.

The improvement of the indicator was influenced by the confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 1.1 p.p.) and in retail trade (by 0.5 p.p.). On the other hand, lower values of confidence indicators among consumers and in services (by 0.5 p.p. and 0.4 p.p., respectively) had a negative impact, while the confidence indicator in construction had no impact.
