Turnover from the sale of services slightly lower than in the previous month

In August 2024, turnover from the sale of services was 0.3% lower than in the previous month and 2.4% higher than a year ago.

In real estate activities the largest decline at the monthly level

Turnover from the sale of services decreased by 0.3% over the previous month. It went down the most in real estate activities (by 4.0%). It was also lower in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 3.7%) and in transportation and storage (by 1.8%). On the other hand, it was higher in information and communication activities (by 2.6%), in administrative and support service activities (by 2.4%) and in accommodation and food service activities (by 1.1%),

At the annual level, however, with the largest growth

Turnover from the sale of services was 2.4% higher than a year ago. It increased the most in real estate activities (by 19.5%), followed by accommodation and food service activities (by 13.5%), administrative and support service activities (by 6.1%) and information and communication activities (by 5.1%). On the other hand, it was lower in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 9.2%) and in transportation and storage (by 1.0%).

METHODOLOGICAL NOTE

From 2024 on, the calculation of indices is made on the 2021 base year and a new observation unit – kind of activity unit (KAU). The data were revised at the level of the new observation unit from January 2021. The data before that period differ from them and are published at the enterprise level.

Data are seasonally adjusted. 14 August 2023 is also taken into account as a day off.

Data for the last 10 months are provisional. With each release the data for this period can be corrected and supplemented with new data.
