Exports up, imports at the same level
In the first eight months, external trade in goods went up, compared to the same period last year, mostly due to the significant growth of trade with EU non-member countries. In August, only exports went up compared to last August, while imports remained at the same level.

Lower imports from EU Member States, exports at the same level
Imports amounted to EUR 2.2 billion and exports to EUR 2.1 billion. Compared to previous August, the value of imports went down by 5.9%, while exports remained at almost the same level (up by 0.2%).
The most important trading partner country in trade with EU Member States was Germany.
Slovenia imported 45.6% of total imports from this group of countries and exported 48.8% of total exports to this group of countries in the observed month.
External trade in the first eight months up
From January to August, exports amounted to EUR 40.2 billion and imports to EUR 42.9 billion, which was 10.7% and 14.7% more than in the same period of last year. The export-import ratio was 93.6%.

Exports (EUR 4.3 billion):
- The value went up by 19.1% compared to a year ago.
- Growth significantly higher in trade with EU non-member countries – up by 45.1%, without operations involving processing1 up by 23.7% (it amounted to EUR 793 million).
- The value remained about the same (up by 0.2%) as in August 2023.
- From EU Member States down by 5.9% and in trade with EU non-member countries up by 6.0%; without operations involving processing1, imports from the latter up by 6.7% to EUR 695 million.

Imports amounted to EUR 2.2 billion and exports to EUR 2.1 billion. Compared to previous August, the value of imports went down by 5.9%, while exports remained at almost the same level (up by 0.2%).
