Agricultural input prices lower again

Agricultural input prices decreased again at the monthly level as well as at the quarterly and annual level. At the monthly level, the prices of animal feedingstuffs went down the most (by 4.6%).

Prices at the monthly level lower again

After a slight increase in August, in September the agricultural input prices decreased again. On average, they were 1.2% lower than in the previous month. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (input 1) were 1.8% lower and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (input 2) 0.1% lower.

In the first group (input 1), lower prices were recorded at animal feedingstuffs (by 4.6%), at seeds of crops (by 3.2%), at fertilizers (by 2.7%) and at maintenance of buildings (by 1.5%).

Among animal feedingstuffs, the prices of straight feedingstuffs decreased on average by 5.0% and of compound feedingstuffs by 4.6%.

In the second group (input 2), the prices of materials remained the same as in the previous month, while the prices of buildings slightly decreased (by 0.2%).

Prices remain lower also at the annual level

Agricultural input prices were on average lower by 7.1% compared to a year ago. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went down by 11.2%. On the other hand, the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment went up by 3.8%.

At the annual level, fertilizers were cheaper by 44.7%, energy and lubricants by 8.3% and animal feedingstuffs by 8.2%.

3rd quarter also marked by lower prices

Agricultural input prices in the 3rd quarter of 2023 were on average 1.3% lower than in the previous quarter and 4.9% lower than in the same quarter of 2022.

The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture were 2.0% lower than in the previous quarter, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment were 0.3% higher.

At the quarterly level, the prices of fertilizers went down the most (by 11.9%) and the prices of buildings the least (by 0.3%).
