Average earnings higher than earnings for June
Compared to earnings for June 2024, both average gross and net earnings for July 2024 were slightly higher – in nominal terms by 0.5% and in real terms by 0.6%.

Producer prices up
After three months without price increases, in August, producer prices increased by 0.4% at the monthly level. On the other hand, they were down at the annual level by 1.0%.

Business users sent more SMSs
In the 2nd quarter of this year, the number of mobile network users or active SIM cards and data transfer continued to increase. At the annual level, there were less outgoing national and international mobile telephone traffic.

Fewer building permits issued
Compared to July, 7% fewer building permits were issued: for residential buildings 9% fewer and for non-residential buildings 6% fewer. On the other hand, 11% more dwellings were planned.

Less energy extracted from natural resources
Net domestic energy use decreased by 3.3% at the annual level in 2022, while resident units used 13.3% less energy abroad. Energy extracted from natural resources went down by 8.4%.

The number of orchard plantations slightly higher than in 2017; they are also better equipped
In 2023, total area of orchard plantations increased compared to 2017 by 8%, and the number of producers by 33%. An average producer was cultivating 1.11 hectare of orchard plantation, 20% less than in 2017.

Last year the lowest amount of active substances in plant protection products in the last decade
According to chemical class, most of the active substances sold in Slovenia in 2023 were in inorganic fungicides (325 tonnes), followed by other fungicides and bactericides (158 tonnes), other herbicides (97 tonnes) and phthalimide-based fungicides (96 tonnes).

Fewer persons in paid employment, continued growth in self-employed persons
The number of persons in employment declined in July, which was the second consecutive monthly decrease. The total number of persons in employment fell by about 3,000, with most significant declines in education and manufacturing.
