Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2019 the real factor income per AWU in agriculture expected to decrease by 12% over 2018
Crop output value is expected to be lower due to the volume decrease in comparison with 2018. Animal output value is expected to increase slightly due to the price and volume increase. Production costs are expected to remain at the previous year’s level.

Electricity prices in the third quarter of 2019 higher both for household and non-household consumers
Between the second and third quarters of 2019 average electricity price for household consumers in Slovenia went up by 3% and average electricity price for non-household consumers by 1%.

The highest usable production of rape and turnip rape seeds and domestic consumption of sunflower seed
Crop balances for main cereals and main oilseeds have been compiled within a grant project in cooperation between the Statistical Office and the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia. They have been prepared for 2017 and 2018 calendar years according to the new Eurostat methodological recommendations.

High level of Slovenia’s integration in international trade maintained also in 2018
In 2018, international trade in goods and services continued to be the most important Slovenia's cross border economic activity. Exports and imports of goods and services were 9.3% and 10.4% higher. Inward foreign direct investment stock went up by 8.6% and outward foreign investment stock by 1.6%.

In the 3rd quarter of 2019 the total number of hours worked continued to increase in the year-on-year comparison
In Slovenia 3.6% more hours were worked in the 3rd quarter of 2019 than in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (due to more persons in paid employment and more working days). The highest average monthly number of hours in this period was worked by persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing.

Average monthly earnings 1.0% higher than earnings for the 2nd quarter of 2019
Average monthly earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons for the 3rd quarter of 2019 amounted to EUR 1,030.52 gross and EUR 714.46 net; they were higher than earnings for the 2nd quarter of 2019 in nominal and in real terms (by 1.0%).

In October 2019 import prices were 0.1% higher than in the previous month and 2.4% lower than a year ago.
