INDICATOR DESCRIPTION
The energy productivity indicator represents the ratio between gross domestic product and energy supply and shows how much economic output (economic productivity) a certain amount of energy allows. Higher energy productivity means that the unit of energy consumed allows greater economic production or that more is done with less energy consumption.
The indicator can also be used to complement the monitoring of goal 12.
