Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In November 2017, 0.3% more persons in employment than in the previous month
At the end of November 2017 there were more than 861,000 persons in employment in Slovenia. There were more men in employment (over 472,200) than women in employment (around 388,800). In the age group of 55 years and more there were 121,000 persons in employment in November 2017.

Average gross earnings for November 2017 8.4% higher than earnings for the previous month
Average gross earnings for November 2017 amounted to EUR 1,756.95. Compared to earnings for October 2017 they were higher in nominal terms by 8.4% and in real terms by 8.1%. The increase was mostly due to higher extra payments paid with earnings for November.

In November 2017 a fifth more passenger cars registered for the first time than in November 2016
In November 2017, 11,169 road motor vehicles were registered for the first time in Slovenia, which is 18% more than in November 2016. From July to September 2017 about 5 million tonnes of goods were carried by train, 15% more than in the same period of 2016.

In November 2017 the prices of agricultural products were on average 9.2% higher than in November 2016. The prices of crop products increased on average by 9.5% and the prices of animals and animal products by 9.0%.

Roundwood purchased from private owners in November 2017 was worth EUR 5.2 million; the value was 13% higher than in October 2017 and about 9% lower than in November 2016.

In November 2017 the monthly growth of agricultural input prices at 0.4%
In November 2017 agricultural input prices increased at the monthly level on average by 0.4%. On average, the prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went up by 0.6%, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment did not change.

In November 2017 industrial activity, turnover in industry and the value of stocks increased compared to October 2017.

15% more goods carried in the 3rd quarter of 2017 than in the 3rd quarter of 2016
In the 3rd quarter of 2017 Slovenian goods vehicles carried 18% more goods in national transport and 9% more in international transport than in the 3rd quarter of 2016. In the same comparison legal persons performed 10% more tonne-kilometres and natural persons 28% more tonne-kilometres.
