Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

Turnover from the sale of goods in 2017 the highest after 2008
In 2017, enterprises in Slovenia sold on the domestic market about EUR 26.7 billion of goods, which is 10.8% more than in 2016. This is the highest value of turnover from the sale of goods in recent years, but it was still lower than in 2008, when it amounted to EUR 28.3 billion.

Compared to April 2018, in May 2018 the number of persons in employment increased by 0.3% (to around 872,300), while compared to May 2017 it went up by 3.0%. The number of persons in employment increased in seventeen activities and decreased in three.

In 2017, every week 189 Slovenian citizens and 147 foreigners emigrated from Slovenia
In 2017, 3,300 Slovenian citizens immigrated to Slovenia, as did 15,500 foreign citizens. Nearly 9,900 Slovenian citizens and almost 7,700 foreign citizens emigrated from the country. Net migration in 2017 was the highest since 2011: 1,253 persons.

In May 2018, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport increased by 15% over May 2017
In May 2018, 167,700 passengers were recorded at Ljubljana airport, 21,500 more than in May 2017. In May 2018, almost 21,600 passengers were recorded in Slovenian ports, which is one third more than in May 2017.

Average earnings for May 2018 amounted to EUR 1,663.23 gross and EUR 1,077.77 net. Compared to earnings for April 2018 were lower in nominal terms by 0.1% and in real terms by 1.3%. The highest average earnings were paid in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

Roundwood purchased from private owners in May 2018 was worth EUR 6.8 million; the value was more than 9% higher than in the previous month and about 63% higher than in May 2017.

In May 2018 the monthly growth rate of agricultural input prices at 0.4%
In May 2018 the agricultural input prices increased at the monthly level on average by 0.4%. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture increased on average by 0.6% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 0.2%.

The prices of agricultural products in May 2018 on average 6.6% higher than in May 2017
In May 2018 the prices of agricultural products were on average 6.6% higher than in May 2017. The prices of crop products increased on average by 23.8% and the prices of animals and animal products decreased by 0.8%.
