Survey on foreign travellers in the Republic of Slovenia
The main purpose of the Survey on Foreign Travellers is to obtain the data on the structure of foreign travellers leaving Slovenia at road border crossings. We wanted to learn about their reasons for coming to Slovenia. The main emphasis was on foreign travellers who did not spend the night in Slovenia, but they came to Slovenia just for a same-day visit (same-day visitors) or they crossed Slovenia on their way to another country (transit travellers). The purpose of the survey is also to obtain the data on expenditure of foreign same-day visitors and transit travellers.
In the year 2007 the survey took place at selected road border crossings at all state borders. After Slovenia entered the Schengen area at the end of 2007 the survey has been conducted only at border with Croatia.
2010
The survey was carried out at selected road border crossings at border with Croatia in April 2010, between 15 July and 15 August 2010 and in October 2010.
