  Compared to 2003, the number of persons employed in the government sector (expressed in FTE) in 2004 increased by 4,8 %, especially the number of researchers, which increased by 7,7 %.
The share of government intamural expenditure on R&D (GOVERD) as a % of GDP was in 2003 and 2004 identical; it was 0,3%.
   
21.4.2006 Research & development activity in higher education sector, 2003–2004
  Compared to 2003, the number of persons employed in the higher education sector (expressed in FTE) in 2004 increased by 3,7 %, the number of researchers increased in 2004 by 2,2 %.

The share of higher education intamural expenditure on R&D (HERD) as a % of GDP also increased; in 2003 it was 0,18% and in 2004 it was 0,19 %.
   
17.3.2006 Research & development activity in business sector, 2003–2004
  Compared to 2003, the number of persons employed in the business sector (expressed in FTE) in 2004 increased by 6.5%, especially the number of researchers, which increased by 14.4%. The share of business enterprise expenditure on R&D (BERD) as a % of GDP also increased; in 2003 it was 0.84% and in 2004 it was 0.97%.

  Government budget appropriations on R&D in 2004 amounted to SIT 38.4 billion which represents 0.61% of GDP.

  Government budget appropriations on R&D in 2003 amounted to SIT 32.8 billion (0.57% of GDP). In 2004 the provisional budget for research and development amounted to SIT 39.9 billion.

  According to the estimate, in 2003 the share of gross domestic expenditure on R&D (GERD) in GDP was 1.54%, which is the same as in 2002.
